3 hr walk: Caesarea: Roman Theatre, Byzantine City, Herod's Harbor.
1/2 day walk, bus and metro: Wadi Nisnas, Bahai Shrine, Panorama of Haifa, Stella Maris convent.

For the Jews Caesarea symbolized Roman rule of Judea. While the Temple in Jerusalem lay in ruins the theaters and amphitheaters of Caesarea were crowded with spectators. Often the theme of the play was the Jew, mocked and tortured for amusement.

Haifa, the city on the slopes of Mt. Carmel, is a modern city with an old history, the Carmelites built a monastery here and Elijah the prophet lived in a cave on the slopes of Mt. Carmel.

Richard the Lion heart lived here and you can see his castle and his harbor, see the great mosque of Abu Jazar and take a boat ride on the Mediteranean from the harbor of Roman Times

This museum established by survivors of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, located on the kibbutz where they reconstructed their lives, creating a new, vigorous society while keeping alive the terrible struggles of the Holocaust for tourists and future generations to see and relive.
